Take a childbirth class to learn some great information that you will use during your pregnancy and the birthing process. Be sure that you're signed up as soon as you become pregnant so you're able to reserve a spot. You need to also think about taking a class on breastfeeding. Each class will help to prepare you for the first few weeks of life after bringing your baby home.

You should be touring your birthing facilities when time is near. The more comfortable you are, the easier birthing will be. It is very important that you look at and inspect these places so you have a greater idea what to expect when the time comes. Make a list of things you are going to need for yourself and your partner and select a facility with all these features.

Pregnant women commonly experience heartburn. When you're pregnant, progesterone can cause this malady. To ease it, try avoiding spicy and fatty foods and do not eat around bedtime. Elevating your head while you sleep will also help to keep your stomach acids where they belong. If you still suffer from heartburn, see what your doctor recommends for you to do.

Have pictures and stories prepared to share with your baby once they are older. Children love to see pictures of what mommy looked like when they were still inside. Take a lot of pictures during each stage of pregnancy, and write down your thoughts into a journal that you can share with them later.

Are you not pregnant yet but plan to be soon? If so, make sure you talk to your doctor before first. Speaking with a doctor about your pregnancy will let them give you information about your health that's valuable to you. Be careful when you travel if you are pregnant. You want to be near a medical facility. You do not want to stray to far from a doctor in case any emergency or complications should arise. Make sure you also have a phone on your person every time you travel.

Get your things together for your trip to the hospital when you're into your third trimester. Putting it off for too long puts you at risk for having to go to the hospital empty handed. Be sure that you have your medical insurance card, a camera with batteries, and your birth plan.

Do not use any vaginal cleansing products when you are pregnant. They can cause health issues for your unborn child. Talk to your doctor about any unusual odors because it could signify urinary tract infections.

If you are going to paint, open your windows to ensure that the room is properly ventilated. Keep friends and family around during this time to help you with any heavy lifting.

When you decide you want to become pregnant, start changing your eating habits right away. It is important to balance the baby's nutrition as soon as possible; preferably from conception. Look into eating meals that are healthy for pregnancy and the baby, so that the baby gets a good start with good health.
