Identifying Victims Of Postpartum Doula San Deigo

By Steven Sullivan

The arrival of a baby is a source of joy and happiness for the family. However, this is not always the same as there are instances that turn the opposite of what is expected. Postpartum Doula San Deigo victims who are either male or female have uncontrolled moods. This is a condition that occurs between one week to about one month after the baby is born to either of the parents. There are certain elements that will be seen on the victims and include the following.

One symptom that is easily pinpointed is continued sadness and anxiety. Though occasionally it is normal for a person to get sad, this comes as a continued state in the individuals. It takes away all the happiness as others are affected by this person staying in this condition for an unusually long time. Conflicts and guilt develop in the partners and other family members.

Restlessness is another thing present in them. They are always looking restless and feel unsatisfied. They fail to appreciate anything that is given to them or done to them. Value for the child is also diminished as they do not find it essential. This results in suspicions and especially when the course of such reactions is not established as postpartum depression.

Exhaustion is another element noticed in these persons. All the time they complain of being exhausted despite the fact that they have not undertaken any activity. This is usually an emotional state and not that their bodies are really exhausted. Depression is known to overwork the brain making it tired and if it is tired the whole body feels the same.

Taking care of themselves and personal hygiene is not observed. Cleanliness is ignored as the individual is ever feeling exhausted and carrying out simple functions such as bathing or washing clothes is hard for the victim. They translate the same to the baby as they also find it a burden to clean them up. Diseases and infections can easily attack both the parent and the child, and this puts the baby at the risk.

Decision making is greatly compromised. The individual can not come up with any meaningful decision. An overworked brain is unable to bring up constructive ideas. Again, the thoughts that they have are mostly negative and are characterized by fear and harming thoughts. Security of the child is put at risk plus their own as some end up even committing suicide.

It is also common to notice social withdraw. A normal person appreciates the society and works towards ensuring there is constant contact with other people and especially due to the presence of a child. But the opposite happens when there is postpartum depression, other people are seen as enemies and refuse any form of contact with other individuals making it hard for them to offer any help.

Lastly, as the condition intensifies, they get to lose their libido. Sex is not supposed to be affected due to childbirth. Many tend to come up with different thoughts such as infidelity not knowing that the condition has been developed due to this depression. Medical assistance should be sought to eliminate these problems.
