Easy To Make Baby Wipes Solution For Better Health

By Essie Osborn

A new baby comes with many responsibilities and virtually endless expenses. There are so many things to purchase, aside from furniture and clothing, like car seats, strollers, high chairs, and hygienic products. With regards to the latter, parents can save money with a homemade baby wipes solution, and experience other benefits as well.

The problem with commercial wipes, aside from them being expensive, is that they are made with unknown chemicals. Everyone knows that babies have sensitive skin, often negatively impact by man-made ingredients. The result can be continuous rashes, as well as pain and discomfort. Therefore, they are best left alone.

Commercial products such as these can be avoided entirely, which can bring health benefits as well as monetary savings. Because they are all natural, and a parent knows exactly what ingredients they are made with, their use can be extended beyond soiled bottoms to also clean faces and hands. Prepare them according to personal preference, with various aromas.

The homemade wipes can be made with either cloth or disposable paper towels. The former will provide even greater savings, as they can be reused, but on the whole, this is a more cost-effective way to go, one way or the other. With the disposables, paper towels can be cut in half for smaller messes or left whole.

Typically, all of these homemade wipes are made with similar ingredients which include soap, essential oils, and water. Many are made with tea bags as well. The essential oils provide a double beneficial effect, going beyond adding aroma, to add antibacterial purpose to the mix. Once all the ingredients are combined, simply cover and gently shake the bottle. Once properly mixed, pour into a storage container.

A good storage container is a recycled baby wipe container because it will help to keep the towelettes moist and protected from dirt or dust. The important thing to remember is that this is not a commercial product, so it will not have a long shelf life. Therefore, it's recommended to make smaller batches.

The preparation doesn't take long, so there really isn't any inconvenience in making a new batch. Aim for each batch to last no longer than two weeks. With regards to creative solutions, one may want to include chamomile or lavender oil, aloe, a gentle bath wash, and so on. The possibilities are endless.

For inflamed skin, caused by a rash, choose ingredients that would treat this skin problem, such as chamomile. It will help to soothe and calm a baby's bottom. Keep in mind at all times that rashes cause more than just discomfort and are downright painful when they are in contact with harsh chemicals, and especially alcohol.

As for the paper towels, always choose the softest of available on the market. These will be more comfortable and pleasing on the delicate infants bottom. Sure, convenience is unmatched, but opting for a healthier lifestyle doesn't have to be difficult. In fact, this is proof of how convenient and easy it can be. With delicate skin and an immune system that is in the process of being built, parents are right about being careful in choosing healthier solutions.
