The Advantages Of Ceramic Window Tint

By Aimee Schwartz

There are many types of tints that can be used on the interior surfaces of glass windows. They can be applied to the windows of homes, office buildings and vehicles. This is done for a variety of reasons, including reducing heat and glare, privacy, protection against ultraviolet filtration and even for decorative purposes. Modern technology has resulted in the creation of a ceramic window tint that is more expensive than some of the other options but has many advantages.

Nano-technology is used in creating this product which means that particles are extremely fine and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The fact that it does not contain any metal or dye distinguishes it from other products and gives it certain advantageous qualities. For example, products containing metal may interfere with radio signals whereas a non-metallic one allows them to pass right through.

Metal has reflective qualities. This can give a shiny appearance that some people do not like. It also reduces visibility and increase glare. A non-metallic product, on the other hand, offers great clarity of vision and the color of the glass is not darkened too much. This is helpful as state regulations exist that control the color of tints, how reflective they are and how much light is transmitted.

The heat of the sun can make the interior of a vehicle extremely uncomfortable. This is when a high quality product that manages to block out the visual and infrared rays to a large extent can make a great difference. The best ones will keep the interior cool even on the hottest days. This can save on air conditioning costs.

One of the other reasons for installing tints is to block out as many ultraviolet rays as possible because of the amount of damage they can cause. Some of the high quality products hardly allow any of these rays through. This prevents damage to the skin as well as fading of fabric, hardening of leather seats and blotching or cracking of dashboards.

Common complaints are experienced when using inferior quality tints. Fading, discoloration, bubbling, cracking and loss of adhesion are some of these. When using a higher quality film, these negative effects are rarely experienced and products often come with a lifetime warranty.

These high quality products obviously cost more. However, this extra expense is often far outweighed by the benefits. They have more strength and are even able to hold shattered glass together, making them safer than those of inferior quality. They last much longer and they are also far more efficient.

It is possible for anyone to install these tints. However, installation can be tricky and having them installed by a well trained technician is preferable. One can choose from a wide variety of tints in all kinds of thickness, colors and grades. Choice will depend on the purpose for which tints are being used and some offer much more privacy, heat reduction, UV protection, safety and efficiency than others.
