Gender Neutral Baby Bedding And Baby Boy Bedding Sets

By Darren Hartley

The design of a nursery that works for either a boy or a girl is a major activity for parents who want to be surprised by the gender of their baby. This design starts with a theme and a color palette and ends with the selection of furniture and accessories, such as gender neutral baby bedding.

The nursery theme will provide cohesiveness and completeness for the nursery. Good theme choices for a gender-neutral nursery are animals, sea life and the alphabet. The surprising gender neutral baby bedding must be expressive of the chosen nursery theme.

Anchoring a theme around a particular color can also be a consideration. Yellow, gray or green are the best colors for a gender neutral nursery. For parents who want to give the room a bolder look, shades of red or orange may be the color anchors. The gender neutral baby bedding in shades of the chosen color are then selected.

Should the baby turn out to be a boy, choosing the right baby boy bedding sets will keep the baby safe and comfortable in his nursery. Because babies do not have the ability to regulate their body temperature, parents need to do this for them by making sure they are neither too hot nor too cold while they are sleeping in their cribs.

A baby in a nursery with a room temperature between 16C and 20C is in an idyllic situation. Baby boy bedding sets that include a cotton sleep suit or a cotton vest should be used on a male baby on temperatures higher than the idyllic. For lower temperatures under than the standard, a baby should be dressed up in cotton flannel sheets, on top of which is another sheet and a cotton cellular blanket layer.

The head of male babies less than a year must always be left uncovered. Pillows, quilts or duvets must not be included in their baby boy bedding sets. Feet to foot is how the baby must be placed in his cot, i.e., his feet must be at the foot of the cot.
